The celebrated, annual Turtle Trot 5K Run put on by the Town of Jupiter is taking place on May 7th and the race starts at 7:30am. The Turtle Trot participants must check in at Ocean Cay Park in Jupiter.

Details on the race are as follows: The main Turtle Trot is a “flat out, back and forth” 3.1 mile long race. The competitors will run along the beach road all competing for the first place title. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) met in Jupiter, Florida and determined to approve a two part invasive lionfish plan to encourage to remove the species.

As many people who live in Florida know and understand the potential negative impacts the invasive species in putting on our wildlife and native habitats. The FWC is encouraging divers and anglers to help remove from the Florida waters whenever it is possible.

Martin County’s largest vegetable garden is Kai-Kai Farms. The owners of Kai-Kai Farms, Carl Frost and Diane Cordeau, were two lab technicians for the University of Florida, Indian River Research and Education Center that met, fell in love, and married in 1988. It was a match made in sustainable farming heaven.

Their love of traveling brought them to the Solomon Islands and pointed them in the direction of what their life’s work would be.
