This year’s Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival is selling out quickly, says festival organizer David Sabin. “We just counted five events sold-out in the last two weeks,” he says. “We’re about 60 percent sold-out.”  The festival will be held at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach and select eateries on Palm Beach.

It seems like something that occurs 4,500 miles away from us would not affect us.  Nothing is further from the truth.  A series of terror attacks erupted in Paris on Nov. 13, 2015, leaving an estimated 129 people dead, 352 people seriously injured and a nation and world in sorrow.  Americans are shocked and saddened by the recent tragic events in Paris, France.

Local area businesses have responded to recent terrorist attacks in Paris by raising money and relief. The latest quarterly report by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), released November 12, 2015, asserting that median prices for existing homes in metropolitan areas continued to climb in the third quarter of 2015, but at a healthier pace that could entice more homebuyers into the market.

"Many of the metro areas with the fastest price appreciation over the past year were in the South — particularly in Florida," says Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist. The Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival is in its 28th year history this weekend, November 13 -15, 2015.  The festival is one of the remaining few true street festivals in South Florida and one of the largest!  The weekend of festivities acknowledges the “community’s rich pineapple heritage.”

John Lawrence Jensen, of Denmark, arrived to the area in 1881.  He set up his plantation and began cultivating and farming pineapples. This area became known as the Town of Jensen. Veterans Day is a day celebrating and honoring anyone who has served in the United States military. The notable holiday’s origin began as a day to memorize the end of World War I and those who served in it. At the time the day was known as Armistice Day and it was then declared a holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. It did not become known as Veteran’s Day until 1954.
