Lychee is one of the most intriguing fruits. The fruit is a small, easy-to-peel tropical fruit native to South Asia that helps boost the immune system, aid in digestion, improve blood circulation, and other health benefits. The fruit is becoming popular in drink and dessert choices around South Florida.

For many in the United States, lychees are an imported fruit, but for us here in South Florida, we can pick them right off the tree when in season. Lychee Season usually starts at the end of May through July.

Many people describe the taste of the tropical fruit as a cross between a strawberry and a watermelon. While others say the taste is a blend of citrus and floral, owning to the fruits sweetness in taste.

South Florida has a few Lychee Farms where locals who are interested can pick them own right out of the grove. In Jupiter, O’Berry Lychee Grove is located in Jupiter Farms and is open for locals and visitors by appointment from 8 am to 6 pm. To book an appointment call the Grove at 561.262.8660.
