Martin County Ranked One Of The "Top Fishing Destinations" of 2021
Martin County is boosting with numerous things to do and family activities but recently Martin County has made the list for the “Top US Summer Fishing Destinations for 2021”. The area was ranked number one on the list of the “Top 7 US Summer Fishing Destinations” according to FishingBooker, an online marketplace and blog for booking yacht charters and recreational fishing.
Earlier this year, FishingBooker named Stuart one of the “Best Winter Fishing Destinations in 2021”. Martin County has great fishing all year-round and is the only area to make the list twice for both best winter and summer fishing. The fishing blog and marketplace credited Martin County to the area’s bio-diverse lagoon ecosystems that are home to more than 800 species of marine life.
In the summer, anglers can reel in redfish, snook, speckled trout, flounder, permit, sheepshead, black drum, bonefish, snapper, tarpon, grouper, king mackerel, and amberjack to name a few. The winter fishing brings a whole different season. The winter months anglers will find the peak season for blackfin tuna, sailfish, wahoo, kingfish, and barracuda allowing for Stuart and Martin County to live up to its name, “Sailfish Capital of the World”.
In addition to great fishing, Martin County is home to warm weather and nice sunny skies that make the area a perfect fishing destination for tourists and locals. Martin County is also the only county and area in Florida that has made the list for both winter and summer destination spots this year.
Other notable summer fishing destinations include Port Clinton, Ohio; Iberia Parish, Louisiana; Norfolk, Virginia; Olympia, Washington; Dana Point, California; and Lake Havasu, Arizona.
