Golfing is a big activity in Palm Beach County and South Florida. Whether you enjoy a full eighteen holes of golf or a quick round of mini-golf there is no debate that golf is big! Palm Beach County is home to more than 160 private and public golf courses and has earned the title of Florida’s Golf Capital. In addition to the golf courses, there is plenty of miniature golf courses for everyone to participate in and enjoy.

Here in the States, miniature golf was first patented by Garnet Carter in 1931. Carter owned a hotel called the Fairyland Inn near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The construction of the 18-hole golf course for the hotel was moving along slowly, so Carter asked the builder to create a miniature golf course for the guests so they would have entertainment until the regular course was fully built. Guests loved it!
