Party on Tequesta Sandbar Draws 1,000

The popular Tequesta sandbar was the sunny site of the wildly attended Conch Bar Jam that saw more than 1,000 boating enthusiasts converge on the patch of land in the middle of the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Tequesta sandbar, from which beautiful views of homes for sale on Jupiter Island can be had, is near Jupiter Pointe Marina and south of the private enclave of Rolling Hills. Live music by Big Vince and the Phat Cats, a Pontiki boat shuttle for passengers and fresh food were among the offerings, as well as paddleboard and kayak rentals.

Proceeds from the event went to Bluewater Babes, a local charitable organization raising funds for cancer organizations Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope and Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper.

Frenchman’s Reserve Venue of ‘You Go Girl’ Charity Event

The fifth-annual “You Go Girl” trade show for charity took place at Frenchman’s Reserve in Palm Beach Gardens (below) and featured more than 50 exhibitors who offered everything from massages and health screenings, to snacks and tea tasting.

Live music was provided by Gyorgy Lakatos (above), and a raffle and a silent auction helped raise funds for the Ella Millbank Foshay Cancer Treatment Center at Jupiter Medical Center. Staff members at the country club were accommodating and supportive of the event, as were the residents and owners of Frenchman’s Reserve real estate, many of whom attended the event.

Goody bags were handed out to the first 250 through the door.

Dream Home Wish List

Before you start looking for your dream home you may want to sit down and make a list of items you wish you could have in this dream home.  Better yet, grab a piece of paper and fold it in half, on one side of the paper, place at the top of the paper the page the label “Wish List” and on the other side the fold line place the label “Needs”.  Now start filling in “Wish List” side.  Begin jotting down ideas as to what you would like to have in your dream home.  

It may be 5 bedroom suites/ 5 and ½ bathrooms/ 6,000 square feet/  with a guest house/ 3 car garage/ on direct ocean access.  If you can manage to move forward with your dream home purchase, fantastic!  If not, get pre-qualified for the type of home on your “Wish” list after you narrow it down…

Admiral’s Cove Residents Have 2012 Art Show at Eissey Campus Theatre

Photographs and paintings made by Admiral’s Cove residents graced the walls of the Eissey Campus Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens this Spring as part of the Admiral’s Cove Art Exhibition.

The wide-ranging pieces of art, which include oil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture and stained glass, all were created by the hands of homeowners. Gary Bard, a glass artist who produced the showcase, said the talent that thrives within the Admiral’s Cove real estate is astounding.

“We are always amazed at the talent in our community,” Bard said. “It seems to be better each year. Who knows, there may be a new Picasso in the group.”

The exhibition encourages residents to show off their creative side and has grown to 45 artists. The pieces are hung in the clubhouse…

Local Musician Performs on Fridays at Tiki at Evergrene

Friday nights at the Tiki at Evergrene are more fun than ever now that local musician Geoff Livingston will be playing his guitar poolside, starting at 7.

RISING HOME PRICE SIGNAL REBOUND

South Florida’s home prices rose 2.5 percent in March according to Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller price index.  Proof that the housing rebound has begun! Case-Shiller tracks the residential values of real estate in 20 metropolitan regions across America.  The index is published on the last Tuesday of each month and has a two month lag time.  

Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist for the National Association of Realtors said the housing recovery is under way.  He was quoted as saying,  “This the first time we’ve had back to back price increases from a year earlier since June and July of 2010 when the gains were less than one percent, we are looking for a modest overall prices gain of 1.0 to 2.0 percent, with stronger improvement in 2013.”  Dr. John…

We have all heard the terms and we think we know what they are all about and how they work, right? Well, I know that I get confused sometimes and it never hurts to brush up. Today, we see news about our economy everywhere we turn. From the news, the newspapers, magazines, emails, billboards etc.… The bulletins about the state of the economy and the real estate market are laced with jargon, acronyms and abbreviations that can get tricky!
