Things are starting to get back to normal at The Gardens Mall. The two-story mall located in Palm Beach Gardens reopened Friday, May 15th for shoppers after being closed for nearly two months.

The Gardens Mall joins Boca Raton’s Town Center Mall and The Mall at Wellington Green which opened earlier this month and the Palm Beach Outlets among the list of major retailers to reopen in Palm Beach County.  

All mall employees will wear masks and every day when before their shift begins will have their temperature checked. Tables have been moved in the food court to allow for social distancing and cards are placed on tables to let customers know it have been clean and sanitized. Many attractions in Palm Beach County have reopened for visitors and rules and regulations are set in place to keep your safe, healthy, and distant from each other.

Good news for Floridians, Governor DeSantis announced last week that the entire state of Florida will begin to enter the full Phase One of reopening the state and its economy, getting one step closer at getting life back to normal.

As more things begin to open in Florida, you are still asked to follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing and wear a face mask to keep the spread of COVID-19 numbers down.

Here is what is open in Palm Beach County and the state:

Restaurants

Food establishments may increase their indoor capacity to 50% instead of 25% with the proper social distancing and outdoor seating is encouraged.

Retail Stores

Stores are allowed to operate at 50% capacity indoors.

The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is reopening their doors to shoppers starting today. The mall closed in the middle of March due to Covid-19 and has gotten to approval from the Governor to reopen. 

Recently the mall sent out survey’s to mall customers on tips and feedback on how they should reopen and what shoppers should expect to see when the mall opens back up. The results from the survey found that shoppers are anxious to get back to the mall. 

The mall is offering: curbside and home delivery, reduce seating in the food court, signs on table in the food court noting that table has been sanitized and cleaned, mall employees will have sanitizing products and wear masks at all times, opening doors for guests, suspended valet service,

Under Phase 1 South Florida restaurants can reopen under social distancing guidelines. Mizner Park within the City of Boca Raton will provisionally allow expansion of al fresco style outdoor seating to allow more patrons to dine in while still exercising social distancing. According to the latest numbers from the Florida Department of Health, there are 39,199 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 1,669 deaths.

According to Governor DeSantis the first phase which includes restaurants and retail stores to operate at 2 percent capacity and restaurants with outdoor dining must keep six feet of distance between tables. Jupiter has a new grocery store chain opening soon.   Aldi, the popular low-cost grocery retailer, has been in the industry since 1976.   Aldi operates in 35 states with nearly 1,700 U.S. stores. The concept implements a cost-effective approach to grocery shopping that saves patrons cash on their grocery bills. 

Aldi began in Germany when two brothers took over their mothers tiny grocery store in 1946.  They built it into one of Germany's largest food retailers, with 300 stores known for its low prices. Palm Beach County Goodwill Stores and Donation Centers will open in 4 days on Friday, May 15th. Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 7 days per week.   Goodwill's top priority is safe shopping and donating for everyone! Good news for shoppers, The Palm Beach Outlets announced late last week that they will be reopening for shoppers today, Monday May 11th. Last week, Governor DeSantis met with Palm Beach County officials and commissioners and agreed to let Palm Beach County enter Phase One of Reopening Florida.

Phase One includes restaurants and retail shops to open with 25% capacity. The Governor also included hair salons, nail salons and barber shops to reopen beginning today as well. 

The Palm Beach Outlets announced last week that they will be reopening today and will start welcoming shoppers back at their retail stores and restaurants. Stores that will be opening today include: Whole Foods, Skechers, Starbucks, PetSmart, TooJay’s, BJ’s Restaurnat and Brewery,

Because Coronavirus can be spread easily, countless Palm Beach County residents have resorted to wearing face masks to protect themselves.  The virus is transmissible through human contact and exposure to respiratory droplets from an infected person.  When an infected person coughs or sneezes, they force out respiratory droplets into the air.
