Sunrise Nest Excavation This August In Juno Beach

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their Sunrise Nest Excavation this August. The Sunrise Nest Excavations started on Thursday, August 1st, where the Marinelife Center staff will give the public an insight into their Research Department.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center has gotten permission from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to allow the public into their department. The unique program is led by a permitted staff member who will lead the guests down to the Juno or Tequesta beaches to talk about the nesting and hatching process of sea turtles. While there, you might be able to see a live excavation.

Sea Turtles nest along Jupiter and Juno Beach during their Nesting Season which is from March 1st through October 31st. The sandy shorelines in Palm Beach County are a popular nesting spot and Juno Beach is considered to be one of the most populated sea turtle nesting areas in the world.

The Sunrise Nest Excavations are $18 per person or $16 dollars per Loggerhead Marinelife Center members. All those who wish to attend must register online to reserve your spot. Children must be 8 years old to attend.

The Sunrise Nest Excavations occur several times a week from 7 am to 9 am.
