What is a cypress knee you ask? A cypress knee is a unique characteristic of a cypress tree forming above the roots. Their purpose is mysterious, and they are generally seen on trees growing in swamps. Some current theories say that they might help to “aerate the tree's roots, create a barrier to catch sediment and reduce erosion, assist in anchoring the tree in the soft and muddy soil, or any combination thereof”.

Jupiter is very easy to navigate on foot or by bike via The Riverwalk. Upon completion, the Jupiter Riverwalk trail will provide public access to 2.5 miles along the Intr acoastal Waterway and the Jupiter Inlet. The Riverwalk “transverses through many types of upland communities including environmentally sensitive lands, residential, marinas, commercial properties as well as waterfront parks.”

Attention dog owners!  Mounts Botanical Garden, 531 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach is turning its annual Dogs’ Day in the Garden into a monthly event, beginning Sunday, December 13, 2020. Bring your four- legged family member for a delightful garden stroll on the second Sunday each month, 9 am-3 pm.  

You will find some great spots around the garden for fun photos with your fur baby! If you post pictures, please use #MountsBotanicalGarden and Mounts will share your photos. Moving ahead, this fun experience for both humans and their fur-babies held on the second Sunday of each month through May 9, 2021.  The event will be held throughout the Garden, and regular admission applies: $10 (general); $5 (children 5-12), and free for members.

A beloved Jupiter Mexican style taqueria, PapiChulo Tacos, has opened a new location in Royal Palm Beach. This new hot spot boasts a chill Southern Cali / Baja Coast vibe lust like it’s sister restaurant to the northern end of Palm Beach County on U.S. One.

Both PapiChulo Taco locations serve up the same Mexican-style menu of tasty tacos, nachos, cleverly crafted cocktails, desserts and more! A spooky night at the science museum is a perfect way to kick off Halloween weekend. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, 4801 Dreher Trail North, West Palm Beach, is hosting a strange night of science Friday, October 30th from 6-8pm. In the spirit of Halloween, here's a Jupiter ghost story on the Loxahatchee River. The tale of the haunted spirit of Trapper Nelson reportedly haunts the tranquil inland waterways of the Loxahatchee River running through Jupiter and Tequesta.  Years ago, in the early 1930’s until the late 1960’s, a strapping "casanova" known as Trapper Nelson made quite an impact on the area and the local area socialites!  He was nicknamed the “Wildman of Loxahatchee”. The ghost is said to roam Jonathan Dickinson State Park to this day.
