Obon Weekend will occur at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens on Saturday, August 13, 2022, and Sunday, August 14, 2022. The Morikami is located at 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach. The Japanese Gardens will host Obon Weekend. It is an annual event that honors the spirits of one's ancestors. Guests and members are invited to take a tranquil stroll through the Japanese gardens, fill out tanzaku slips in memory of lost loved ones, and pay their respects to founder George Morikami at the Bon altar. Write your wish on a strip of colored paper, or tanzaku, and tie it to a branch of the Tanabata bamboo to celebrate at the Morikami Museum, located at 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach. All the people of Japan celebrated the story of Tanabata and its festival.
