David is a city in Broward County just twenty-five miles north of Miami. Prior to European colonization, the Tequesta were the native people of what is now Davie. Campsites and graves have been found in Davie, the oldest dating back 5,000 to 7,000 years. The landscape and terrain were, and still is, ideal for plants, including orchids.

Florida’s only drive-through safari park is Lion Country Safari located in western Palm Beach County. The safari is located on nearly six hundred acres of land and is home to roughly nine hundred animals. The Lion Country Safari is located at 2003 Lion Country Safari Road in Loxahatchee.
