The State of Florida only has a few remaining Dog Friendly Beaches in the entire state and the Town of Jupiter is proud to have one of them.  The town adopted the policy to allow dogs to roam on the beach in 1989. Since then, the stretch of sand where dogs are permitted has grown to 2.5 miles long.

The Dog Friendly Beach area stretches from Carlin Park at Beach Marker #57 to Marcinski Road at Beach Marker #25. In this designated area, dogs are allowed to roam freely while being supervised by their owners.

In order to keep Jupiter a dog friendly area, the town has a set of rules, they wish everyone would follow when bringing your dog to the beach.

For students in Martin County and Palm Beach County, this weekend is the last weekend of summer and the last weekend to take advantage of Florida’s Tax-Free Sales Holiday on clothes and school items.

The Tax-Free Holiday began on July 31st and continues until Monday, August 9th, just in time before the school year starts. During this time, shoppers will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida for certain school supplies, clothing, and electronics. The tax will automatically be discounted at check out when purchasing qualifying items.

Students go back into the classroom in Palm Beach County on Tuesday, August 10th and students in Martin County go back into the classroom on Wednesday, August 11th.

One of South Florida’s most popular Independence Day celebrations, the 4th on Flagler is returning to in person celebrations after last year’s celebrations were held virtually. West Palm Beach City officials announced yesterday the popular Palm Beach County event is returning and fireworks will light up the sky to celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 4th.

This 4th of July head down to downtown West Palm Beach for a grand firework display and the holiday celebrations. The 4th on Flagler will feature refreshments, live entertainment, the inaugural Bill Bone 5K, a patriotic salute, a car show, and a spectacular fireworks display over the intracoastal just after 9 pm to finish the night.

Hurricane season begins in the Atlantic Ocean on June 1st and continues until November 30th. For a few short days, shoppers can save money by putting together and gathering your stockpiles to prepare in case of a storm.
