The best part of waking up is that sacred coffee in a cup!. There are many firm believers that caffeine comes first! Before tackling morning meetings, kids, spouses, grocery shopping, or errands, a cup of coffee - specifically, a large, strong, good cup of coffee - is always in order. For our search through the sea of delicious coffees available for purchase, as all true connoisseurs know, there’s a big difference between coffee that’s just okay and coffee that’s great.

Florida Atlantic University's Jupiter Lifelong Learning Society is devoted to elevating the intellectual and social lives of mature learners by “offering stimulating educational opportunities, taught by outstanding university faculty and guest lecturers, designed to broaden students' understanding of diverse cultural, societal, scientific and global issues.”

Each year more than 70 courses are taught by FAU professors and distinguished guest lecturers, in topics including foreign policy, music, art, history, science, literature, philosophy, current events, films and many others, along with concerts and entertainment. Last year more than 7,300 LLS students registered for classes resulting in over 22,000 registrations for the year.

Coming to our seaside town of Jupiter, Florida will be two pieces of prized American History for you to see up close and personal. The Columbus Foundation will be harboring two replica ships, the Nina and the Pinta for locals to tour. 

The Columbus Foundation’s original ship, the Nina, is the most historically accurate replica of a Columbus Ship ever built. The recently built Pinta is now one of the other most historically accurate ships in the world as well. The Town of Jupiter is home to one of the few remaining dog friendly beaches in the State of Florida.  Jupiter is located north of Palm Beach and just south of Stuart, Florida.  Having “man’s best friend” allowed on the 2 and ½ mile stretch of beach is a privilege.  Well behaved dogs and their conscientious owners are always welcome on the beach.

Certain rules apply when you bring Fido to the beach.

  • While off-leash, let dogs run in uncrowded areas, giving no one reason to complain.
  • Don’t let dogs invade the space of or bathroom near other people or dogs uninvited.
  • Clean up after dogs with FJB dog bags, provided at every beach crossover, or bring your own bags.
