The Hobe Sound Nature Center is perfect for South Floridians looking to learn more about their local flora and fauna. The Center is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to bring environmental education and awareness to the local community.

The Nature Center was opened by a Jupiter Island couple in 1973 to help educate people of all ages about Florida's fragile ecosystems and environment. The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach is a fun and interesting place for those who live in South Florida to visit, especially now that it’s starting to get a little cooler outside. Fun Depot is a huge indoor amusement center in Lake Worth. It has everything from go-karts to laser tag to batting cages and arcade games so there are plenty of fun things to do for the whole family.

Laser tag, in particular, is a favorite at Fun Depot. The game is held in a black-lit arena with loud music and lots of fog. Split the family up for a battle and try to tag them in the action-packed game.

When you're done head over the Fun Depot Cafe for refreshments and favorites like pizza, calzones, salads, hot dogs and ice cream.

Fun Depot is a great place to take the kids and you'll have fun too. Thursdays are family fun nights and the cost is $25 per person for unlimited games, laser tag and go-karts from 5-11 p.m.

About the Center

The Loxahatchee River Environmental Center opened in Jupiter on August 23, 2008.
