Palm Beach County is home to some of the most fun bike trails in the state. Here are a few that you and your kids can enjoy

Lake Trail

Lake Trail along the Intracoastal offers the perfect scenery of the historic Palm Beach homes and a glimpse of downtown West Palm Beach from across the water. The trail is easy to follow and traffic-free, though some areas of the trail intersect with intersections in residential areas with little traffic. Along the trail, you can stop at the historic section of Worth Avenue and Henry Flagler Museum. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many shops and restaurants are located nearby to stop for food and drinks. Access to the bike trail is located across Royal Poinciana Way near the water’s…

The SilverBall Museum in Delray Beach is not so much a museum as it is a hands-on-deck arcade.

The SilverBall Museum houses dozens of pinball machines, skeeball, air hockey, Pacman, frogger and other classic arcade games from the 50s through the 90s. They're all available for you to play for super cheap.

Feel like a kid again playing classic games while also enjoying a cocktail, glass of wine or beer from the full bar. While the games are old, the museum is new and clean and will soon be one of your favorite places to hang out.

The cost is only $10 for one hour of unlimited gameplay or $25 for an all-day pass.

Find out more online here.

The SilverBall Museum is located at 19 NE 3rd Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33483.

Grab your kids this weekend and head to the Flamingo Gardens!

The Flamingo Gardens is located on 3750 South Flamingo Road, in Davie. Trust us, it's worth the drive. Originally the property of Floyd and Jane Wray, who built a home and citrus grove here in 1933. At the time, it was at the edge of the Everglades.  They started a collection of tropical and subtropical fruit trees and shrubs. The Wray home still stands today and now is a museum illustrating a country home in the early 1930s.

Flamingo Gardens has been in existence for over 90 years. It is a 60-acre, not-for-profit botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary like no other you have ever encountered. The collection features exotic, native and very rare plants.

The current exhibit,…

The National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act was created by Congress in 1968 to preserve certain rivers with outstanding natural, cultural, and recreational values in a free-flowing condition for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

Quite frankly, the environmental rarity and diversity of the Loxahatchee River is understated. While the United States is home to 3.6 million miles of river, fewer than 13,000 miles actually qualify as a “Wild and Scenic River”. In 1985, a 10-mile stretch of the Loxahatchee River became Florida’s first Wild and Scenic River, representing only .04% of Florida’s 25,949 miles of river. Currently, the Loxahatchee River is one of two rivers holding this title in Florida, and the only one that falls under all three…

Shepard Park is a great place for families in Stuart to hang out and bring their kids to play on the playground or to launch their boat for the day. Outdoor fun and in-person play are invaluable for kids and what better way to do that than in a place that is also enjoyable for you.

Shepard's Park in Stuart has a lovely location right on the Intracoastal Waterway. Here, a boardwalk over the water amongst the mangrove plants has pretty views of the bridge curving over liquid blue. At sunset you can sit on a bench and watch the peachy colors over the water. There are plenty of picnic tables under large trees, and a playground under tall coconut trees. White sand makes the playground area a fun place to dig and play. There are swings too. Near the…
