Major changes can soon be coming to the Downtown Palm Beach Gardens shopping and entertainment center. Last week, Palm Beach Gardens City Officials approved the first reading of two ordinances that could bring an apartment building and a hotel to the shopping and entertainment complex.

The City Officials gave the preliminary approval to a zoning change and a land-use amendment for the 49-acre site. The changes will allow for a mix of uses on the land that is now designated for business buildings. The site’s owner wants a land-use designation change to mixed-use from professional use. The site’s owners are also asking to rezone the property to general commercial and professional office space.

Downtown Abacoa is preparing to host the 3rd Annual Cajun Crawfish and Music Festival this weekend. The festival is happening this Saturday, June 5th and the event is free and open to the public.

The Cajun Crawfish and Music Festival celebrates the culture and traditions of Louisiana through food, music, and dancing. The festival will feature authentic Cajun foods such as a crawfish boil, jambalaya, gumbo, po’boys, gator tails, classic Louisiana cocktails, and much more.

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, in West Palm Beach, will host the Palm Beach Symphony as the 2021 season comes to an end.  On Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 7:30pm, guest pianist Alexander Toradze, performs Ravel’s lighthearted and sparkling Piano Concerto in “G” Major with a tribute to American jazz.

In the second Palm Beach Symphony premiere of Ravel on the evening’s program, the Symphony performs Ma Mère l’Oye, or the Mother Goose Suite, which like the fairy tales it celebrates, enchants listeners with a sense of wonder. This May, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is hosting several outdoor concert on Friday and Saturday nights. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed.

The bands performing feature a diverse lineup of local and regional bands playing all genres of music. The concerts take place in the Centre Court of the outdoor shopping and lifestyle center.

Before or after the concert stop by one of the several restaurants to grab something to eat and drink. Jupiter’s Abacoa is hosting their monthly Food Truck Invasion this Friday night in their Downtown Area. On select Friday nights, Food Trucks line up along Town Center Drive to offer some of their best and authentic dishes.

The Food Trucks come from all over South Florida and feature a variety of food ranging to tacos, burgers, pastries, ice cream, Asian, Italian, specialty dishes, Cuban, and much more. The popular Food Truck event happens of the second Friday of every month in Downtown Abacoa, and the event is very popular among the locals.
