Palm Beach County is home to the John D MacArthur Beach State Park, the only state park located within the county.  The park was established in 1989 and its purpose is to protect Florida’s southeast coast.

The park is located in North Palm Beach and is situated between the Lake Worth Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The park is home to more than seven species of plants, more than 22 species of animal’s roam throughout the park and features more than 438 acres of natural environment.

An Estuary is located within the northern section of the park and features an Anastacia Limestone Rock Reef that was formed more than 125,00 years ago. The reef is mostly made of limestone and is one of Palm Beach County’s best snorkeling spots.

Beginning on the first of April 2021 stand up paddle boarding will be offered at MacArthur Beach State Park, 10900 Jack Nicklaus Drive, North Palm Beach.  The paddle boards and instruction will be provided by High Point Paddle Adventures at MacBeach. Depending on the season, you may see wildlife including manatees, dolphins, mullet, snook rays and a variety of birds. The Club Scrub is hosting a free “Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day” this Sunday, May 19th at the Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The biking event starts at 9 am and goes until 1 pm at the Camp Murphy Off-Road Mountain Bike Trails.

The event features guided trail rides for all ages, a variety of biking trails for all skill levels, a free family barbeque lunch, snacks, beverages, raffles and goodie bags. They hosted the same event in the fall and the biking day had over 350 kids participated in November’s event. The purpose of the event is kids and their families to the joy of mountain biking.

The Florida State Park is located in Martin County between Tequesta and Hobe Sound just 5 miles north of Jupiter. The park features a variety of natural habitats, river swamps, wildlife, 16 natural communities, hiking and biking trails, water activities, guided tours, food courts, and mangroves. Jonathan Dickinson State Park has the Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first federally designated scenic and wild river runs through the middle of the park. In 2013, the state park won the TripAdvisior’s Certificate of Excellence.
