A 98-year-old World War II veteran took quite a ride on Saturday. Walter Alesi, a resident of Stuart, joined the Marine Corps out of high school after the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Alesi and four of his brothers served in World War II.

Alesi was gifted a flight from Stuart's Witham Field in a Boeing Stearman biplane courtesy of Dream Flights. Dream Flights is a non-profit organization dedicated to “giving back to those who gave”.  The Dream Flights organization was established and dedicated to honoring seniors and military veterans.

The Stuart Air Show is coming back to town November 12-14, 2021. Stuart was named to the 2021 "Best Winter Fishing Destinations" nationwide, according to FishingBooker.com the world's largest online travel fishing company.  FishingBooker touted Stuart's sailfish fishing reputation, saying people from all over the country should flock to the city during the winter season to test their fishing skills.

The reason the City of Stuart is unique to other places on the Atlantic coast is that the Gulf Stream is very close to shore.  It can be reached within 10 miles. For anglers, that means that you have a chance of reeling in a Sailfish on a four- or five-hour fishing trip! In addition to Sailfish, you can also pursue Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Redfish, Kingfish, and Barracuda during the winter months.

The first day of the Stuart Boat Show was well received and with hopes for a better weekend turnout. Day 2 of the largest boat show on Treasure Coast will open for the second day this weekend, Saturday January 16 at 10:00 a.m. The annual boat show has been named as one of the “Top 20 Events” in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society last year.
