This year at the Martin County Fair the Florida Oceanographic Society presented hands-on demonstrations with sharks, stingrays, turtles, oysters and more.   If you did not have an opportunity to get out seeing the exhibit at the Martin County Fair visit the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center and feed the resident stingrays, explore the “touch tank” and closely observe a feeding frenzy in the 750,000 gallon “Gamefish Lagoon”.

Voting closes January 25 for CoastalLiving.com and their annual “Happiest Seaside Town in 2016”.  From Hawaii to Alabama and Florida to California, they are considered based on their rank with the Gallup-Healthways Well Being Index.

The Gallup-Healthways Well Being Index methodology is “designed to be the Dow Jones of health, giving a daily measure of people's wellbeing at the close of every day. The 8th Annual Martin County Nautical Flea Market is coming to Stuart, Florida on Saturday January 9th, and Sunday January 10th, 2016 from 9am until 4pm each day. This nautical market offers a wide variety of vendors ranging from artists to clothiers, sculptors and more selling their crafts and products.

More than 1,600 students each year join or partake in the Art Council of Martin County.  The Art Council of Martin County provides a wide variety of programs that benefit the community through the arts.  The Council believes that educating the youth of the community about art is vitally important to their creativity and thusly strengthening their leadership skills and aiding their academic development. 

The Art Council also joins forces with the Martin Memorial Hospital and encourages of the advantages of art helping heal hearts, minds, and bodies.  They have assisted Alzheimer’s patients, along with arts therapists, in the adult care program.
