For the second year in a row, the city of Downtown West Palm Beach is going to be converted into an outdoor art exhibition called CANVAS Outdoor Museum Show. Your art experience will have no boundaries and no limits at the CANVAS show from November 11th to the 20th. Spread out over several event days, with multiple locations CANVAS is a celebration of art you won’t want to miss. 

More than twenty different locations will be transformed into massive art installations. Feast your eyes on building-sized frescos, intricate murals and jaw dropping works of art. These works will be applied to the sides of condominium towers, hotels, a city-owned garage, and even the Royal Park Bridge that leads to Palm Beach.

Happening this weekend at the Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach is the “Save The Jaguar 5k Run.” The run kicks off bright and early at 7:30am on September 3rd with a run that winds throughout the zoo grounds. 

Participants will be running for a great cause, to save the Jaguar. “Years ago, jaguars could be found across the southern half of the United States. The expansion of human habitat and agriculture has long since forced them out of our environment.  Now they're only found in South and Central America, and declining there.” The Palm Beach Zoo and its fans work incredibly hard to save these majestic cats. A portion of the race proceeds go to protecting these animals and their environments.

Now on display at The Waterfront on West Palm Beach is the internationally recognized art installation known as “Los Trompos” or “Spinning Tops.” Created by two Mexican, contemporary artists, these colorful tops are interactive so you touch, see and feel them. 

The Waterfront has been transformed into a medley of vivid colors while Los Trompos are in town. Artists, Hector Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena are the masterminds behind these beautiful tops. The installation is comprised of 20, 3D spinning tops that have been described as “larder than life.” The tops are made of different medium from rope to metal. “Sundays on the Waterfront” is a FREE monthly concert series in South Florida featuring national and regional acts.  It takes place on the third Sunday of each month on the gorgeous waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach.  The City of West Palm Beach Department of Recreation and Strategic Innovations, Division of Community Events produce “Sundays on the Waterfront”.

The concert series is a perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy the spectacular waterfront. Relax and chill out with family and friends on a Sunday afternoon.  Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the concert at Meyer Amphitheatre, 105 Evernia Street, West Palm Beach.  The show is FREE.

This Thursday in West Palm Beach is the 5th Annual “Pairings” Event of West Palm Beach. The event is a popular culinary happening that focuses on bringing together the best food and wine in the county. 

Hosted by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, the West Palm Beach Pairings Event showcases 25 local restaurants and their artisanal creations. The event donates its proceeds to Families First of Palm Beach County, which is a non-profit, countywide service dedicated to the well being of children and families in the area. The program’s mission is to better families and their children through “high-quality programs in prevention, early intervention, child development, behavioral health, education and advocacy.”

Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center


Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center in Boynton Beach is a gorgeous, big park offering tons of opportunity for outdoor adventure. The park is centered on nature and offers a 1.5-mile boardwalk that you are allowed to bike on. The boardwalk hovers over the native wetlands and while on it you can see some amazing Floridian wildlife you may have never seen in person. Saturday, May 14th is the annual Save the Tiger 5K at the Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach. Join the zoo in a passionate effort to help save the Malayan tiger. 

“The Malayan tiger is the most endangered of the 5 remaining species of tigers.  It's estimated that there are fewer than 250 in the wild.  The Palm Beach Zoo works closely with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), supporting species and habitat research and protection at Endau-Rompin National Park in Malaysia. A portion of your race registration fee helps fund our involvement with WCS.”
