The holiday classic "Jingle Bells" was originally written for Thanksgiving, not Christmas. The song was written in 1857 by James Lord Pierpont and published under the title “One Horse Open Sleigh”. It was supposed to be played in the composer’s Sunday school class during Thanksgiving as a way to commemorate the famed Medford sleigh races. “Jingle Bells” was also the first song to be broadcast from space.

Palm Beach Symphony

Palm Beach Symphony kicks off its 45th season with Symphonic Tales at the Kravis Center, a spectacular selection of lively suites spanning the Romantic Age to the early 20th century. Conducted by the Symphony’s Artistic and Music Director and world-renowned maestro Ramón Tebar, this concert features works by Strauss, Kodaly, Ginastera, Wolf-Ferrari, Borodin and Tschaikovsky, with a special guest performance by The Master Chorale of South Florida performing the Polovetsian Dances from Borodin’s Prince Igor.

We in South Florida are forecast to have a cold front pass through early Tuesday. Ahead of the front near record warmth is possible on Monday with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

As the front passes it will bring with it lots of clouds and spotty showers Monday Night into Tuesday. Northwest winds will begin to filter the cooler air in on Tuesday with highs in the middle 70s.

Wednesday Morning is likely the coolest with lows in the mid to upper 40s to the North and West of West Palm Beach. So, if you live in South Florida break out a light jacket and get ready for some beautiful weather!
