The Florida Strawberry Festival is officially back. The 11-day event brings in tens of thousands of people. The idea behind the Florida Strawberry Festival is the preservation of this heritage. Central to its focus, the festival continues to preserve and enhance the agricultural and historical legacy of the Florida strawberry. Steeped in tradition, the Florida Strawberry Festival is alive with a volunteer spirit, uniting people from all parts of Plant City and the surrounding area. The March beach cleanup is sponsored by Florida, Power, and Light. We clean a two and ½ mile stretch from the Juno Beach Pier to the southern edge of Carlin Park crossovers 22-59. Head on over to Jupiter beach this Saturday morning and join the Friends of Jupiter Beach as they help clean up the area coastline.  Friends of Jupiter Beach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally health, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter.

Join like-minded folks on Sunday mornings for a Sunrise Walking Meditation on Palm Beach Island’s Root Trail. The meditation is to a guided meditation track that takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. Every participant will be given a headset where you can hear the mediation throughout the walk. Everyone will be listening to the same meditation. Parts of it are sitting, and then other parts of it are walking. Once a month, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum host a hike through their 120-acre outstanding natural area in Jupiter. The area is one of only three federally designated Outstanding Natural Area. The area is preserved for the precious history of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse location and the botanical beauty found in the area. Congressionally designated as an Outstanding Natural Area in 2008.

The intention behind the federal designation is to “protect, conserve, and enhance the unique and nationally important historic, natural, cultural, scientific, educational, scenic, and recreational values of the Federal land surrounding the Lighthouse for the benefit of present generations and future generations for the people in the United States.”
