The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a variety of events every day.  The sea turtle research and rehabilitation center added Rescue to Release Virtual Theater Show every day that has become a popular event. 

The event is a virtual realty experience that allows visitors to follow a sea turtles journey from rescue to release back into the ocean. The narrated event uses virtual reality headsets that takes visitors through real action scenes of a sea turtle being rescued, through the hospital and rehabilitation process, and being released back into the ocean. 

The event costs $5 dollars per person and the event is recommended those 8 years old and up.

Every Wednesday in the month of June, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their weekly Five Flags Over Jupiter Inlet Event. The event includes a guided tour to learn about the rich military history of the Jupiter Lighthouse. 

The Five Branches of the United States Armed Forces have contributed more than 150 years to the history of the iconic red lighthouse. 

Space is limited to 20 people per week and those who attend will learn about how the Army constructed the Lighthouse before the Civil War, the history of a WWII Naval Building, personal stories of the Coast Guard Lighthouse Keepers, and much more. 

The event is free with the purchase of general admission.

Saturday mornings, join others and help keep our beautiful beaches clean. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts a Self-Guided Beach Clean Up on Saturday mornings. 

No registration or payment is required to participate in the event. Simply just show up to the beach with gloves and a bucket and help keep our beaches clear from trash and debris. The Beach Clean Up happens at the beach near the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The Self-Guided Beach Clean Up has become such a popular event that the Loggerhead Marinelife Center has added it to their events calendar once a week. Helping to take part in keeping our beaches clean helps protect our beautiful blue ocean, intracoastal, and help to protect our marinelife.

With the summer weather fast approaching, getting out on the water is one of South Florida’s most popular outdoor activities. Since 2010, the State of Florida has required anyone born after January 1st, 1988, to obtain their Boater Safety Identification Card by taking an approved state course if they wish to get behind the wheel of a boat. 

Florida does not have a “boating license” but a Boating Safety Education Identification Card. This Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day and Boca Raton is hosting their annual Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K and Ice Cream Mile. The run is open to adults and kids, and you can still sign up to be a part of it. 

The 5K and Ice Cream Mile will take place at the YMCA of Boca Raton located on Palmetto Circle South. The race will include top finisher prizes, ice cream and t-shirts to all 1-mile runners, apple pie to all runners, post-race food, raffles, and much more. 

The Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K starts right at 7 am on Monday morning and the Ice Cream Mile Run will begin at 8 am. Kids races (8 years old and younger) will begin at 8:15 am.
