June 8, 2021 is World Ocean Day. Fortunately, here in Palm Beach County there are several organizations that help by keeping the ocean free of garbage left on our beaches with beach cleanups.  This little piggy keeps the beaches clean.  The United Nations day, World Ocean Day, is for celebrating the role of the oceans in our everyday life and inspiring action to protect the ocean and sustainably use marine resources.

Many countries have celebrated this special day since 1992, following the UN Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008, the UN General Assembly decided that, as of 2009, 8 June would be designated by the United Nations as “World Ocean Day”.

Appreciate and do your part to keep the oceans beautiful for future generations.  One Ocean, One Climate, One Future – Together.
