The Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program creates a sense of peace and increases community identity. The program has improved the design value of public infrastructure. It contributes to the objective of Palm Beach County departments where projects are positioned. The Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program is overseen by the Facilities Development and Operations Department of the county.

The purpose of the plan is to provide art that complements public buildings, parks, and plazas. One spectacular piece is stationed at the Palm Beach County Gardens Branch Library, 11303 Campus Drive in Palm Beach Gardens "Garden Gate" by Garth Edwards.  Designed, fabricated, and installed by artist Garth Edwards, Garden Gate is inspired by Palm

This Saturday, the Town of Jupiter is hosting their Annual 5K Turtle Trot at Ocean Cay Park along A1A for its 30th Anniversary.

The 5K Turtle Trot has been a hometown tradition for many runners as well as for visitors, first time participants, and families. The course is out and back 3.1 miles along the beautiful Jupiter beach. The race begins and ends in Ocean Cay Park where participants will enjoy post-race music, delicious continental breakfast items, complementary massages, and much more. All race finishers will receive a medal and a free t-shirt. Accuchip will manage the timing and scoring for all participants. 

Registration has reached capacity for the 5K and is now closed but there is a limited number of spots available for the Kids Fun

This Friday, head to the Jupiter Lighthouse to explore and learn about the history and nature of the lighthouse and the Outstanding Natural Area onsite. 

The Jupiter Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area (JILONA) Act was introduced into the US Senate designating the lighthouse and the 120 surrounding acres of Outstanding Natural Area (ONA) into the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management National Landscape Conservation System. The site located in Jupiter is the first Outstanding Natural Area in the Nation east of the Pacific Coast. The other two sites are located in Yaquina Head in Oregon, and Piedras Blancas Lighthouse in California. The Act was signed in 2008 by President Bush, protecting this site and giving it Natural Public Land

The 12th Annual Friends of Jupiter Beach Food and Wine Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, from 2:00 p.m. – to 5:00 p.m. Get your tickets in advance and head on over to the Jupiter Riverwalk Plaza Down Under, just south of Harbourside Place in Jupiter. The festival includes live music and food and drink tastings from over 30 local participating vendors.
