Living in South Florida has its many benefits and for some, boating is a popular activity that happens every day. Since 2010, the state of Florida requires that any person who wishes to operate a vessel with more than ten horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988 must complete and pass a boater safety course.

The state does not have a “Boating License” but a Boater Safety Identification Card stating that the course is completed and a successful score on the end of the class exam. Florida’s Boater Identification card is valid for life and no renewal fee’s or course renewal is required. The state and course instructors ask that you review your notes and keep up with the latest boating rules and regulations.
