In a survey conducted earlier this year, more Americans are moving to Florida. The survey was conducted by the moving and storage company U-Haul and it states that Florida has taking over the number one spot of America’s Top Moving Destination.

Texas has been the previous winner for the last four years. Palm Beach County School District have been weighing all the options when it comes to going back to school and what it would look like in the fall.

Summer vacation just started but students are due back in the class on August 10th, but a lot of questions and concerns remain about what the schools and classrooms will look like amid the pandemic.

The school board met Wednesday, June 10th to begin discussing plans for the new 2020-2021 school year and they are weighing three possible scenarios.

Scenarios include:

  • Students resuming in-person instruction full time
  • Full-time distance learning
  • Hybrid Learning where students come in two days a week and continue distance learning three days a week

The City of West Palm Beach announced that residents can now file their incident reports online. This is a convenient alternative for non-emergency reports.

The secure new system It's called DORS, or Desk Officer Reporting System.

The city says it's for minor incidents like crashes, shoplifting and crime tips, but not emergencies. For emergencies, people must call 911.

The new portal gives police the ability to get brief information ahead of any potential investigation, improves the efficiency of developing a police report, and mitigates any potential threat of COVID-19 to officers and the public.

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is currently hosting a virtual summer camp this June and will transition into in-person sessions starting June 22nd. The summer camp is designed for children ages seven to twelve.

The virtual camps will feature the innovative Camp-in-a-Box which contained a majority of the supplies needed for the at-home experiment and can be picked up at the center. The summer camps last a week and each week is a different topic and experiment.

Next week, starting Monday, June 15th, the theme for the camp is In My Backyard. The session will explore Florida’s ecosystems and will last until Friday, June 19th. The sessions are an hour long and are spilt up between two age groups, ages seven to nine and ten to twelve.

The newly renovated Rosemary Square, in downtown West Palm Beach has reopened for visitors are taking extra precautions to help keep everyone safe.

The outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment venue has hand sanitizer stations throughout the property and frequent cleanings of high touch areas. The center encourages everyone to wear a mask, wash hands regularly and to keep distance.

Public events are postponed until further notice, but serval shops and restaurants have reopened for the public. Rosemary Square’s valet has returned on Okeechobee Boulevard and all parking garages have touchless payments.
