The Savannas Preserve State Park is the largest, most conserved remainder of the savannas on Florida's east coast. 

The savannas are a 10-mile stretch of freshwater marshes from Jensen Beach to Fort Pierce. The land is home to many diverse habitats and is an endangered natural system. 

The state park entrance to the savannas includes an Environmental Education Center, hiking trails, and canoe/kayak access points.

The undisturbed area is a favorite for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts with its beautiful scenery, wild flowers, birds, and other animals. Eight miles of trails are often used for biking, hiking, and horesback riding. The most popular activities in the park are fishing, canoeing and kayaking.

A unique new tapas bar just opened on the up-and-coming Lucerne Avenue in Lake Worth.

The bar is called "Three of Hearts," and their menu includes small plates, wine, local beers, and board games. The spot is a blended gastro bar and game room, offering 22 games from Rummikub to Jenga, Scrabble, and Clue. 

Owner Robin Popelsky opened Three of Hearts in honor of her sister who passed away from cancer last year. Robin's dream was always to open a restaurant, and her sister's death urged her to do so. The board game element has the purpose of bringing people together and is a throwback to childhood and some of our favorite pastimes.

Lion Country Safari is Florida’s only drive-through and walk-through safari and amusement park, and it’s in located on over 600 acres in Palm Beach County. Lion Country Safari was founded in 1967 and claims to be the first cage-less zoo in the United States. In 2009, the safari was named the third best in the nation by the USA Travel Guide.

The safari was developed by entrepreneurs that wanted to bring the African safari experience without having the price of traveling and for those who cannot make the long journey to Africa. The buzzy downtown West Palm favorite, the Avocado Grill, is opening a second location Downtown at the Gardens.

The new bistro features a vibrant bar scene integrated with a large, chic dining room. The eatery has a modern, industrial look with blonde woods, rustic lighting, and incorporated art like their avocado tree sculpture made out of wood that is also wrapped with seating. 

The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating on a nice patio. This location is larger than the other, totaling 4,200 square feet. A Loggerhead sea turtle named Kraken will be released back into the Atlantic Ocean tomorrow after a brief stay at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.

Kraken will be sent off with a satellite transmitter attached to her shell so her voyage at sea can be tracked. 

Join the nature center for the release tomorrow at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton at 4:30 p.m. prompt. Parking feed will be waved starting at 4 p.m.

Back again for the 12th year, is the Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival at the Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.

The festival is this upcoming Saturday, January 27th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Guests attending the festival will be able to sample some of the finest brews in the nation and throughout South Florida, and be able to experience the continuously changing world of craft beers.
