Not only is this Saturday Halloween, but a rare Blue Moon will light up the night’s sky. A blue moon does not always appear to be blue in the sky, but rather when it occurs.

As many know, a full moon usually occurs once a month and when 13 full moons occur in one year instead of the normal 12, that is considered to be a blue moon. There are two types of blue moons, a full moon can be considered blue when it is the second of two full moons in a month, or when it is the third of four full moons in a single season.

This weekend is not only Halloween, but also the weekend that we turn our clocks back one hour to end Daylight Savings. Daylight Savings time ends this Sunday, November 1st at 2 am when the clocks fall back an hour.

This means sunrise and sunset times will be one hour earlier starting Sunday morning. This also means that there will be an extra hour of sleep starting this Sunday. Most of America expect those in Hawaii, most of Arizona, and the US Territories follow Daylight Savings Time.

The Town of Jupiter is home to one of the few remaining dog friendly beaches in the state of Florida. The town adopted the idea in 1989, that allowed dogs to roam on freely on the 2.5 miles of sandy beach in Jupiter.

The Jupiter Dog Beach stretched from Marcinski Road at Beach Marker #25, north to Carlin Park Beach Maker #57. In the designated areas, dogs are welcomed to roam freely and must be supervised at all times.

Dogs are allowed on the beach from sunrise to sunset. The Town of Jupiter has a set of rules they would like everyone to follow when bringing your pet to the beach. Every Saturday morning, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center encourages locals and visitors to participate in their Self-Guided Beach Cleanups. The Self-Guided Beach Clean-Up is a new program this year and has been added to their weekly calendar.

Head to the beach on Saturday mornings, and while you are there stop by the Marine Debris Sorting Station on the back deck of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to pick up the beach up supplies. Once the supplies are picked up, volunteers can make their way down to the beach and help keep our beaches clean and the sea turtles safe. When finished, bring your bag back to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center Sorting Station and receive a free t-shirt for helping.

Everyday, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts their Public Guided Tours for everyone to come and get an up-close look at the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

During the guided tours, visitors will learn about each sea turtle patients housed there, and the Marinelife Center staff will be there to answer your questions about sea turtles, marine life, and the center itself.

The tours are offered twice a day and cost $10 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children under 8 years old. All are welcomed to attend. The tours are limited to a certain number of people and registration is required.

Halloween is right around the corner and there is still time to get your perfect bright round orange pumpkin this weekend. This Friday through Sunday, Rosemary Square in West Palm Beach is transforming their square into a festive pop-up Fall Festival.

The pop-up will feature The Garden Shoppe and the Birdie Floral Truck. The two will feature hundreds of pumpkins ranging in size and dried floral arrangements for the perfect fall décor.
