After Hernan Cortez and his Spanish army conquered the Holy City of Cholula, Mexico one October day in 1519. The Spanish conquistadors ravaged the Aztec holy city that day. This weekend, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their Outstanding Natural Area Family Day. Families can explore nature and history at the Lighthouse’s Outstanding Natural Area.

Families will be able to visit the museum, the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Historic grounds, Keeper’s Workshop exhibit, and a chance to climb to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse. The lighthouse tower has 105 steps to the top and children must be 48 inches tall to climb the lighthouse and be accompanied by an adult.

The 1977 release of “Star Wars” changed Hollywood forever. Just last December, “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker”, was released in theaters. Following the previous two movies of the sequel trilogy, “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi”, the main Star Wars film franchise concluded. Taco Tuesday is a customary day in many US towns and cities. The day consists of going out to your local Mexican restaurants and enjoying some of the best tacos and taco specials in the area.

The idea came about in 1989 when a Wyoming-based fast food restaurant Taco John’s was granted the trademark to use the term ‘Taco Tuesday’. Many people and restaurants believed to have used the name earlier. After years of the name and popularity of the idea, many local restaurants and food chains caught on and made if an official thing in 2016. Today, fast food chains and local Mexican restaurants offer special dining and drink deals on Taco Tuesday.

Downtown at the Gardens features live music to enjoy every weekend. You can experience a fun, free evening of music under the stars every Friday and Saturday night. Downtown at the Gardens, located at 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue in Palm Beach Gardens is hosting a concert series in the Center Court. 

From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., guests can enjoy this free concert series featuring local bands from different genres.  The concerts will be a variety of today’s top hits, the best of the 80’s, country music, rock and roll and more.  This is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family.  It is a fitting for the young and young at heart.

This year, South Florida residents can celebrate and have fun at the South Florida Fair twice this year. The mini South Florida Fair was held earlier this year in January and now the annual big fair is being held this May. The South Florida Fair rolls into the Fairgrounds beginning this week, May 7th through May 23rd.

The fair has been a popular event every year in Palm Beach County. Residents from all over the state come to the area to enjoy the fair and fair foods. The theme for the fair this year is ‘An Earthy A-Fair’. The theme was chosen because on April 22nd marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the fair wanted to emphasize the importance of the day and the planet.

On Monday nights, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their weekly Twilight Yoga at the Light. All are welcomed to come and enjoy the peace and serenity of Yoga with the incredible sunset views.

The class is outside and is taught by Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck. The class is open to all level of yoga and everyone is encouraged to attend. The class is $10 dollars and those who wish to participate in the class are asked to bring them own yoga mat and water bottle.
