The State of Florida offers a way for residents to contribute to a causes close to their heart through specialty license plates. The plan to use a specialty license plate to build a billion-dollar fund for state park repairs now includes additional tags for veterans, Biscayne Bay, and Margaritaville.  The specialty plates offer Palm Beach County residents an opportunity to adorn their cars with their favorite causes.

Stuart was named to the 2021 "Best Winter Fishing Destinations" nationwide, according to FishingBooker.com the world's largest online travel fishing company.  FishingBooker touted Stuart's sailfish fishing reputation, saying people from all over the country should flock to the city during the winter season to test their fishing skills.

The reason the City of Stuart is unique to other places on the Atlantic coast is that the Gulf Stream is very close to shore.  It can be reached within 10 miles. For anglers, that means that you have a chance of reeling in a Sailfish on a four- or five-hour fishing trip! Did you get sunburned in Palm Beach County or elsewhere?  Did you go to the beach, out on the boat, or in the pool and you didn’t bring the sunscreen?  Bet it was cloudy outside and what were the chances you would need sun protection and now you look like a “lobster”.

Getting “fried” is a rookie blunder that even a long time Southeast Floridians make occasionally.  Clouds do not completely block off the sun’s UV rays. You are at greater risk to get sunburned on a cloudy day than on a sunny day because you are not as aware of being exposed to the sun. Always check the UV Index before you head out on your outdoor activities.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park is located at 16450 S.E. Federal Highway, Hobe Sound within Martin County.  The state park offers many activities and opportunities for outdoor adventure! Visitors can enjoy paved and off-road biking, equestrian, and hiking trails. Lighthouses are wondrous things, like the historic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, beautiful, nonetheless incredibly useful. They serve two significant purposes, first, they serve as a navigation aid and secondly, to warn ships and boats of dangerous areas. August 7, 2021, is National Lighthouse Day.  If you are in the Jupiter area head on over to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.

Celebrate how these scenic, historic structures guided travelers throughout the centuries. In 1789, the U.S. Congress passed an act securing the protection of all lighthouses under federal support.
