Every month, the Loxahatchee River Center in Jupiter pairs up with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide a series of Boating Safety Course aimed for young boaters in our community. The classes are aimed for young boaters however, all are welcomed to learn more about safety on the water.

The next Boating Safety Class is happening this Saturday and Sunday and the course is completely virtual. The class will be online and taught in a lecture style class. The two-day class is free to attend but a deposit of $10 dollars is asked to hold your spot in the class. The deposit will be returned once the course is over. At the end of the two-day virtual class an exam will be given to those that participated and the young boaters will…

Grab your paddle boards and kayaks and join in on the Mangroves and Mansions tour through the Lake Worth Lagoon. The tour begins on the waterfront in Downtown West Palm Beach where your tour guide will set up each guest with “paddling 101” and safety gear before heading off on the two-hour tour.

Good news for cruise travelers, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has announced that cruising will begin out of the Port of Palm Beach beginning this summer. The first cruise back into the Port will begin sailing to Freeport, Bahamas beginning July 2nd.

The Grand Classica ship will be the first cruise back in the Port of Palm Beach. Normally the cruise line has two ships that leave out of Palm Beach County, The Grand Classica and the Grand Celebration. Both ships offer several dining venues, entertainment, lounges, bars, pools, a kid’s club, casinos, unlimited food, and drink packages.

Palm Beach County is home to the John D MacArthur Beach State Park, the only state park located within the county.  The park was established in 1989 and its purpose is to protect Florida’s southeast coast.

The park is located in North Palm Beach and is situated between the Lake Worth Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The park is home to more than seven species of plants, more than 22 species of animal’s roam throughout the park and features more than 438 acres of natural environment.

An Estuary is located within the northern section of the park and features an Anastacia Limestone Rock Reef that was formed more than 125,00 years ago. The reef is mostly made of limestone and is one of Palm Beach County’s best snorkeling spots.

Jupiter’s River Center is hosting their Paddle with a Partner Public Kayak Tour this Thursday, May 13th. The tour will begin from Lainhart Dam and travel through the freshwater swamp for a chance to see wildlife.

Bring your addle buddy and join in on the fun with your local neighbors. The cost is $20 dollars per person and registration is required due to limited space.

For the tour, all equipment is provided. Those planning on attending should bring their own water, water shoes, sunscreen, and anything that will make them comfortable in nature.

The tour is recommended for modern to advance paddlers, but all are welcomed to attend. The journey will include narrow waterways, heavy vegetation, and strong currents.
