Naturally with all the water in Palm Beach County finding great places to grab a drink and an appetizer on the waterfront is easy.  However, if you want an idyllic spot to imbibe by the water there are a few special spots!

Your first stop should be the venerable E.R. Bradley’s Saloon, in West Palm Beach, an indoor and outdoor energetic drinking venue where the breezes off Lake Worth blow through and views of Palm Beach never disappoint. Enjoy cold drinks, bar appetizers, and plenty of TVs, and if that is not enough the people watching of those who pack the place can be entertainment enough.

If you want something more substantial than bar food to enjoy by the water, head to Elisabetta’s along South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Here you…

Kayaking the Loxahatchee River is one of the best ways to see what Old Florida may have been like up close.  Kayaking provides a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of endangered, threatened, and unique animals, such as the bald eagle. It can take five hours or more to make the eight-mile trip from Riverbend Park in Jupiter to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, the largest state park in southeast Florida. You can rent a kayak easily at Riverbend Park Rentals or Canoe and Kayak Rentals at Jonathon Dickinson State Park.

There are kayaking options which are easier and family and kid friendly. There are welcoming 1-2 hour paddle tours as well. The river is lined with cypress trees, ferns, air plants and cypress knees along a narrow, twisty route. Expect to…

Head on over to Jupiter beach this Saturday morning and join the Friends of Jupiter Beach as they help clean up the area shoreline.  Friends of Jupiter Beach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally health, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter, Florida.

In 1994, the threat of closing the beach to dogs rallied a small group of concerned citizens, who quickly began organizing beach cleanups and providing dog waste bags at beach crossovers. Since then, the group has exploded, with individuals and businesses joining in an effort which “repeatedly demonstrate care for their marine environment and the privilege of taking our four-footed friends to one of the last dog beaches in the area”.

Collectively over…
