Palm Beach Gardens is a city in northern Palm Beach County that is home to roughly 56,300 residents and is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area. The city has a total area of 55,000 square miles and roughly two tenths of a mile features water.

Prior to becoming a city in 1969, Palm Beach Gardens was primarily cattle ranches and pine forests with swamp lands to the west. In 1959, the land was purchased by John D. MacArthur and he announced his plan to develop 4,000 acres and build homes for 55,000 people. This past weekend, Waterfront Properties was lucky enough to sponsor the Paws and Reels Fishing Tournament to fundraise for Amber’s Animal Outreach. Over 30 other companies sponsored or donated raffle gifts, and 20 boats registered for the first annual tournament.

Last Thursday, fishing teams and supporters gathered while Rob "The Fly" Navarro and Tournament Director Lacey Hagler went over rules and regulations, and a captain’s dinner was provided by Sailfish Marina.

Head to the beach this Saturday morning and join the team to help clean up the beach for the Jupiter Beach Clean Up.  The Beach Clean Up is being held by the Teach The Beach Foundation, an non-profit organization whose mission is to create awareness and educate the public about ways how they can conserve our local ocean and environment.

The Beach Clean Up is this Saturday, July 18th at Carlin Park at the Jupiter Civic Center. The Clean Up will begin at 9 am to 10:30 am and those who plan on attending are asked to bring a reusable bucket, a mask, and gloves.
