The Village of Tequesta is located in Northern Palm Beach County along US Highway 1 and to the West of Jupiter Inlet Colony and the North of Jupiter. The quite village is surrounded by the blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterways and the Loxahatchee River.

Tequesta is named after the Tequesta Indians and was formed in the 1950’s as part of one man’s dream that was center on the Tequesta Country Club. But over the years the Tequesta has become a wonderful waterfront community for everyone.

Tequesta is the last village in Palm Beach County before entering Martin County to the north.The small village has about 6,100 residents as of the 2017 Census.

The 2019 Manatee Lagoon Festival is back again this weekend. The ManateeFest kicks off tomorrow Friday, February 1st with a Movie Night Kickoff.

The movie for the kickoff is “Finding Nemo” starting at 5 pm. Bring your chairs and blankets for the movie under the stars to kick off the fun event. Food and drink vendors will be on site during the movie night.

This Saturday, February 2nd is the ManateeFest starting at 9 am to 4 pm. The festival and the Manatee Lagoon are in their third year and is a free event for the whole family. It's understandable since the average daily temperature reaches 70 degrees Fahrenheit and it is a popular destination for a break from the blistering cold up north. Fishing is a popular activity in South Florida. Whether you’re a beginner or have been fishing for years, the waterways of Jupiter and the Loxahatchee River provide an ideal spot for a large variety of inshore and offshore fishing along the 380-mile intercostal waterways of Florida. Some of the fish included Speckled Sea Trout, Jacks, Redfish, Snook, Pompano and the seasonal Tarpon, all found in the waterways along Jupiter.

 Martin County locals know when it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the bountiful fresh air. It’s happening at the 13th Annual Port Salerno Seafood Festival this Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10:00am- 8:00pm.  The festival assures us that “the fish is fresh, the beer is cold, and the smiles are always warm!”. 

The seafood festival began as a neighborhood fish fry and dock party along the waterfront of Port Salerno.  The Port Salerno community was amid a revitalization chapter during 2006.   A small group of concerned locals met at a fish fry hoping to bring positive awareness to the area’s historic commercial fishing trade and gather support for the community.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse sits on top of a grassy mount overlooking Jupiter and the Inlet. The red lighthouse has been a part of Jupiter’s culture since it began construction in 1853. Today the lighthouse is open 7 days a week and hosts a series of events throughout the week.
