The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation has been artificial reef building over the past 7 years. The Foundation is in Jupiter and pursued the foundation's mission of "enhancing and protecting the marine environment" by raising over $2 million to build over 1.5 miles of new reefs offshore of Jupiter and Juno Beach.

The Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet on June 8, 2014. The foundation’s work will help assure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment where Andrew loved to dive and fish.

The weekend is just around the corner and this week was the start of the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Golf is one of the most popular outdoor activities not just in the state of Florida but also in Palm Beach County. The county is home to more than 160 golf courses both private and public and the area has earned the title of “Florida’s Golf Capital”.

While playing golf requires some skill, the area is also home to great miniature courses for everyone to play and enjoy the game. BallenIsles Charities Foundation, 100 BallenIsles Circle, Palm Beach Gardens will award grants totaling $800,000 to 46 local Palm Beach County organizations in March 2021. Since the beginning of the establishment of the BallenIsles Charities Foundation they have raised over $4.6 million.

When times looked gloomy and the pandemic raged on and people struggled, the BallenIsles community stepped up in a big way to extend a helping hand to communities nearby. The annual PGA Golf Tournament that is held at PGA National Resort and Spa is back in Palm Beach Gardens this week. Some of the world’s top golfers have joined the Player’s Field and will be playing for the playing for the next, Honda Classic winner.

For the past several years, the Honda Classic has been named the “Most Fan Friendly Event” on the PGA Tour. The award recognizes the event’s food options, amenity stations, social media engagements, affordable ticket options, parking, transportation, and more. This year is expected to do the same.

The PGA Tour Champions and AZEK Company brand TimberTech announced on Wednesday the extension of the company's title sponsorship agreement with the Boca Raton event, meaning it will remain the TimberTech Championship through at least 2023.

While much of the talk heading into the week and during the week was about Jordan Spieth and if he was back, Daniel Berger quickly changed the narrative on Sunday. 

Starting the day 2 shots back, the former Dwyer standout only needed two holes to eliminate Spieth's lead and tie him at the top. From there, Berger played lights out golf to earn the win Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Missing the Am portion of the event due to Covid restrictions, Berger sank a 30-foot walk-off eagle to win by two shots, beating Maverick McNealy who himself nearly made an eagle putt just a few minutes earlier, settling for a birdie to tie Berger for the time being.

The professional golf tournament held every year at Palm Beach Gardens, PGA National Resort and Spa is now selling tickets for their upcoming tournament in March. The tournament was moved to the end of March last year, in previous years the PGA Tournament was held in February. The tour rearranged its schedule, and The Honda Classic will now be held in Palm Beach County March 15th through March 21st.

Tickets are now on sale for the tournament. Due to the current circumstances, only a limited number of tickets will be sold prior to the event. In previous years, attendees could purchase tickets at the event, but this year, tickets are required to be purchased in advance. Tickets will be available on a first-come first-serve basis.
