The Village Council of North Palm Beach recently created a new ordinance allowing golf carts to be driven legally on Village-owned streets. Florida State law forbids the use of a golf cart on any public street unless the local government passes an ordinance specifically for local roads. Under state law, golf carts are defined as "a motor vehicle that is designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course ... and is not capable of exceeding 20 miles an hour."

On Monday, The Club at Ibis in West Palm Beach announced that former tennis great Jay Berger will be the club's new Director of Athletics. 

Berger has had quite the resume over his professional career. In addition to being a top-10 player in the world during his time playing on the pro tennis tour, he has also served as the coach of the Davis Cup team and the U.S. Olympic team. On Tuesday, a report came out from Eamon Lynch at GolfWeek that the PGA Tour is creating a new program designed at rewarding those players that constantly "move the needle" with an additional bonus payout at the end of the season. The Player Impact Program, as it's being called, is designed to pay out an end-of-the-year bonus to the players finishing in the top 10 based on a variety of requirements. The pool that those 10 golfers will be splitting is $40 million.

The 10 golfers will be determined based on their “Impact Score,” which will be determined based on an algorithm the Tour has created that comprises of 5 categories. The 5 categories are:

Just one year after turning pro, Jupiter Island resident Tiger Woods wins the 1997 Masters, shooting a then scoring record 18-under par for the week. The youngest person ever to claim the Green Jacket, Tiger won by a Masters record 12 shots, a record that still stands today.
