Every Tuesday and Thursday at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is a fish-feeding program for kids! This free program takes place at the Mangrove exhibit, which displays the habitats of Florida’s coastal ecosystems. 

Kids who attend the program will get to learn about the different animals that live in these environments and their feeding habits. They will get to see an up-close and live feeding to see how the fish feed and interact with each other. Kids get to touch and see the different types of foods these fish eat too, from corals, anemones, other fish and plankton. 

The Fish Feeding program at Loggerhead Marinelife Center takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00pm. The program is free for everyone.

The most anticipated time of year has come in southern Florida, sea turtle season. The turtles have come to lay their eggs and now the eggs are hatching. “The Biologist Beach Walk program is a unique opportunity for Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) in Juno Beach, educators to give the public insight into LMC’s research and conservation efforts.”

Attendees of the walks will get to learn about the different species of sea turtles, how they migrate, interact and nest on our beaches. The experienced biologists leading the tour teach guests inside tricks on how to spot nests will also teach guests and hatchlings where they will often get to see hatchlings. The Junior Vet Lab is a must try experience for local kids who love Marinelife and animals! Taking place at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center in Juno Beach, the Junior Vet Lab educates kids 12 years of age and under about the science behind rehabilitating and releasing turtles back into their natural habitat. 

“Dr. Logger,” one of the educated volunteers at Loggerhead, leads the program. The program happens daily for about 30 minutes and walks the kids through the center talking about everyone from rescue to release. The day starts with a role-played phone call to Dr. Logger over the walkie talkie with the kids, asking them to come to the beach to help an injured turtle. Palm Beach County divers have a new underwater landmark to discover. The new reef will honor a local three-time breast cancer survivor, Andrea Torrente. “Andrea's Reef”, a 60,000-pound mermaid honoring the valiant woman, has established a home just 3/4 miles east off the Lake Worth Inlet, submerged under 75 feet of water. The sculptures for the reef were deployed off Ocean Reef Park on Singer Island, August 11, 2016.

Thomas McDonald, sculptor, found the inspiration to model his mermaid after the local woman who has survived breast cancer. McDonald started work on his commissioned sculpture during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October. He said in a release, "I work at a women's health…

South Florida living revolves around the water.  Residents and visitors love the north end of Palm Beach County for its abundance of waterways, ocean access, beaches, lakes and Loxahatchee River.  Palm Beach County is desperate need of more boat ramps and boat trailer parking space.  In particular, the northern end of the county has felt the shortfall of public access boat ramps and parking.  The county has now responded to the demand and more parking and ramps will be available.

Local area foundation, the Andrew Harris Foundation received a significant donation from the No Shoes Reefs Project.  Jupiter resident, Andrew “Red” Harris, was a talented young man.  He was struck while snorkeling June 8, 2014.  This partnership between Building Conservation Trust, Coastal Conservation Associations’ National Habitat Program, and Country Superstar Kenny Chesney and ENGEL Coolers will be known as  the Andrew “Red” Harris No Shoes Reef project of 2016.

The foundation will donate 15 of the "lagoon coral head" modules to Palm Beach County for placement on the popular Phil Foster Park Snorkeling Trail.  There will be numbered plaques, which will help “snorkelers navigate the trail, avoid the channel and improve safety.”  This reef…
