Paddle Board Adventure just took place last Friday. It was a guided eco paddle tour hosted by Loggerhead Marinelife Center. They partnered up with Blueline Paddleboards and led guests, with biologists and staff, through mangrove channels and seagrass beds up the Loxahatchee River and the Jupiter Inlet. The origins of yoga are debatable and classic techniques of yoga date back more than 5,000 years. One thing is for certain, yoga reduces stress!  The ancient technique is a mind body practice that combines stretching exercises, breathing, and relaxation. Yoga can reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve heart function.  

Experience the serenity of yoga on the deck of the Jupiter Lighthouse at sunset.

The time will vary monthly based on the setting of the sun. Relax and go with it.  This is an “all levels”class, beginners are encouraged and welcome.  Classes offered by donation.  It is requested that you bring your yoga mat, towel, and flash light (to aid walking path illumination back to parking lot after class).

TWO LOCAL WORLD CLASS HEALTH CARE INSTITUTIONS PARTNER UP...JUPITER MEDICAL CENTER and MIAMI CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

Jupiter Medical Center announced a substantial partnership with Miami Children’s Hospital.  The partnership hopes to benefit the community for years to come with the pediatric partnership.  Parents and grandparents know emergency pediatric healthcare is crucial.

The two medical centers that share similar cultures, beliefs, values and dedication to provide excellent quality health care to patients have joined to benefit the community.   Together they hope to “bridge the gap from world-class adult health care, to world-class pediatric healthcare, where the entire community benefits.”

"SOUTH FLORIDA LISTED AS ONE OF TOP 10 HOTTEST HOME MARKETS FOR 2014”

Seattle based Zillow, an online real estate database known and respected in the industry for its housing precisions, has released its 2014 list of TOP 10 Hottest Home Markets For 2014.  Our area is right in middle of the list!

The Seattle based group report; released on December 5, 2013, has South Florida in Fifth Place!   Zillow reports, “The list is intended to give an early view into the housing markets that are likely to experience a heavy demand for homes, as well as increasing home values."

The All Aboard Florida passenger rail project will be a cost effective and environmentally friendly way to travel between South Florida and Orlando, with potential to expand to Tampa and Jacksonville.  Trains will operate at speeds up to 125 miles per hour, meeting the United States Department of Transportation definition of “high speed rail” and thusly reducing travel time between Orlando and Miami and other connections offered.  Trains will offer a full range of first-class amenities including Wi-Fi internet service, gourmet meal service, beverage service, reserved business class seating and coach service seating, luggage and bicycle accommodations.

TITANTIC VIOLIN BRINGS $1.6 MILLION at AUCTION

A violin, believed to have been played on the Titanic as it sank, was auctioned for more $1.6 million this past weekend.  The sea-corroded instrument is believed to have been belonged to bandmaster Wallace Hartley.  He was one of the disasters 1,500 victims.
 
As seen in the blockbuster film, “Titantic”, the band continued playing “Nearer, My God, to Thee” as passengers panic and the ship sinks into the icy waters.  The violin, with the inscription “For WALLACE on the occasion of our ENGAGEMENT from MARIA”, was believed to be strapped to the musician’s body in a leather case.  

The violin was returned to Hartley’s fiancée, Maria Robinson, in England in 1939.  After her death, it was donated to the Salvation Army Band and later passed on, eventually settling…
