Pictured: PGA National is the home of The Honda Classic

Referred to as “Golf’s Hot Spot” in Golf Digest and the “Epicenter of Professional Golf” by GOLF.com, the sunny beachside town of Jupiter Florida is the place to live for today’s pro golfers.

The current crop of Tour players have flocked to Jupiter Florida, favoring the beachside town for its warm weather, its absence of income tax, its unparalleled lifestyle, and its prevalence for affluent suburbs that allow access to private clubs and games with other pros.

One of the most public additions to the Jupiter scene was Tiger Woods when he completed a $38 million purchase in 2016 of 10 acres of residential property stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway, but 35 PGA…

Grouper caught on a dead sardine bottom fishing for snapper, Photo Courtesy of Reel Intense Fishing

With the mullet run being the highlight of the past couple of weeks, most fishing has been geared toward snook, large tarpon, and amberjack chasing schools through inlets, inshore, on the beach, and at the Juno Pier. Your trustiest bait is live mullet itself, which can be found during low light periods of the day away from boat traffic. If you’re looking for a little more fun in exchange for less reliability, using top water plugs creates some exciting action as snook will strike these much harder, sometimes becoming airborne exploding on the surface.

Reef anglers should be catching some kingfish and snapper this time of year, but this week has…

The historic "Duck's Nest" on the island of Palm Beach is the town's oldest residence, reminding us of the pioneer days of the Palm Beaches. At 125 years old, the property is ready for some revamping- and the town is expressing major excitement about it.

Built in 1891, the Duck's Nest at 305 Maddock Way is the oldest standing house in Palm Beach. This was before the barrier island was connected to the Florida mainland by bridges, so much of the home was assembled in parts in New York and shipped here by barge- the only option for transportation.

The home was built by the Maddock family and they resided there for 125 years. In July, the family sold the house after their proposal to demolish and replicate it was unfavored by the community.…

The iconic PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, home to the famous Honda Classic and a choice tourism spot, is under contract with the Canadian company Brookfield Asset Management. The resort was last sold to Walton Street Capital for $170 million in 2006 and went up for sale again this June.

PGA features 339 hotel rooms, five 18-hole gold courses, and a 40,000-square-foot spa. Brookfield is purchasing the resort for $255 million, which works out to $752,212 per hotel room. If the contract goes through, PGA can expect some nice upgrades, as Brookfield makes investments in properties they plan to improve, keeping them for the long-term, unlike Walton Street.

The low-key Brookfield has many well-known assets including New York’s…

Spoto's Oyster Bar in Palm Beach Gardens is a popular restaurant locals enjoy for their fresh seafood and friendly atmosphere. Owner Ralph Benfante says he's ready to give the place the upgrades it deserves- including a brand new outdoor bar and fire pit and a remodeled interior.

The interior renovations have started and the first phase is nearly done. When the second part is finished, the restaurant will be able to accommodate private parties for up to 60 people. Everything will be brand new- the floors, the ceiling, lighting, etc. Benfante says guests will be impressed.

The outdoor patio is getting all new furniture and awnings. They're adding a quartz-topped 16-seater bar covered in navy tiles in the shape of fish scales. A fire pit with…
