Burt Reynolds Park

Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter is located in northern Palm Beach County and houses the Jupiter Chamber of Commerce and the River Center. This 35.55-acre park runs laterally along 2000 feet of the Intracoastal Waterway. It includes a sand volleyball court, six ramps for boat launching for those boating enthusiasts. Dr. Alex Wasserman of Jupiter is hosting his second annual surf fishing series at Carlin Park starting this Sunday, July 12. There will also be classes held on July 19 and 26. In this 3-part class you will learn how to catch and identify fish caught in our local waters of south Florida. You will also learn tips and techniques derived from over 20 years of saltwater fishing experience.

You are not required to sign up for all three classes, however, each class will be unique and cover completely new information for each meeting, so it is recommended! All ages are welcome, but we please request parental supervision for children under 12 during the entire duration of the class.

Good news for Florida theme park goers and Disney fans, Walt Disney World in Orlando is reopening this weekend to guests. The popular theme park shut its doors in March due to Covid-19. Disney Springs, the outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment area reopened to guest last month.

This Saturday, July 11th, Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen to guests at a limited capacity and social distancing guidelines to help protect guests and their Cast members. Disney’s Epcot and Hollywood Studios will reopen to guests on Wednesday, July 15th.  Earlier this week, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opened to Annual Passholders.

This summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is bringing back their popular nighttime Turtle Walks. Tuesday through Saturday nights during the month of July, visitors will get an up-close opportunity to see sea turtle nests and observe sea turtles.

The nighttime Turtle Walks begin with an informative presentation of sea turtles and their nesting habits during the after-hours program. Those who attend will also get a chance to visit the current sea turtles housed at the sea turtle hospital and research and rehabilitation center. Once the informative session and tour is over, members of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff guide guests down to the beach to observe the sea turtle nests.
