This weekend the streets of Lake Worth will transform into the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival this Saturday and Sunday.

The artwork only lasts until the next raindrop. The street paintings turn the roads into hand drawn artwork. The festival features temporary masterpieces in an open-air museum of art, sound and aromatic segments.

The festival is the largest of its kind in the country and draws a huge crowd every year. The artists create a classic or 3-D masterpiece for viewers to come by and see. The drawings are done by using environmentally friendly chalk on both the sidewalks and street. Shrimp, Lobster, Snapper, and more, put on your bibs because the Jupiter Seafood Festival is back this weekend and it’s going to be better than ever! 2 days of fresh seafood, live music, nautical vendors and family entertainment. Chairs and blankets, and dogs on leashes are welcome. Free parking.

Proceeds from the event will be going to the Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation, which was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet on June 8, 2014. The foundation’s work will help assure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment where Andrew loved to dive and fish.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is preparing to release another sea turtle, named Aquaman back into the ocean this Thursday, February 21st.

Aquaman is a large juvenile green sea turtle that was found in the Lake Worth Lagoon in North Palm Beach in January 2018. The sea turtle arrived at the research and rehabilitation center with a fishing line entangled around its left front flipper. The Center carefully removed the line and the wound was treated with a therapeutic laser and some honey. The sea turtle also received antibiotics and was monitored closely throughout the last year.

Thursday, Aquaman will be released back into the ocean. Activities for the release will start at 10:30 am, where the center will explain the history and journey…

This weekend, for the 29th year in a row, Downtown Stuart will be painted with art as over 200 artists and merchants fill Osceola Street along the merchant circle.

There will be all kinds of different art for sale and display at the event ranging from oil paintings to pottery to sewn goods and much more. One of the great things about the Downtown Stuart Art Festival is that all of the proceeds from the Art Festival benefit the Stuart Main Street program. With over 70 gift shops, restaurants, and clothing stores, this quaint downtown area sees locals and visitors alike who wish to enjoy a small-town warmth coupled with all of the luxuries of a city. February means the return of baseball for many fans. Spring Training brings a new season of goals and expectations for the upcoming baseball season. The Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter hosts two professional baseball teams for their Spring Training, The Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is the only stadium complex in the country that host four minor league teams and only one of two in Florida to host two major league teams. The minor league teams include the Jupiter Hammerheads, Palm Beach Cardinals, Gulf Coast Marlins and the Gulf Coast Cardinals.

The teams share the field for the games but have their own practice fields, outdoor batting cages, numerous pitching mounds, and state of the art conditioning rooms.
