The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is preparing to release another sea turtle, named Aquaman back into the ocean this Thursday, February 21st.

Aquaman is a large juvenile green sea turtle that was found in the Lake Worth Lagoon in North Palm Beach in January 2018. The sea turtle arrived at the research and rehabilitation center with a fishing line entangled around its left front flipper. The Center carefully removed the line and the wound was treated with a therapeutic laser and some honey. The sea turtle also received antibiotics and was monitored closely throughout the last year.

Thursday, Aquaman will be released back into the ocean. Activities for the release will start at 10:30 am, where the center will explain the history and journey of the turtles care throughout their stay. The release will start at 11 am.

The cost to attend is free, however they recommend arriving early to get a good viewing spot on the beach.

The release will take place at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach and the beach access nearby. The Sea Turtle releases are weather permitting so be sure to check their website for more information.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is located at 14200 US Highway 1 in Juno Beach.
