Firefly Hike at the Pine Glades Natural Area

Take a different type of hike through the Floridian wilderness on the Firefly Hike in the Pine Glades Natural Area near Jupiter. See the evening come to life with the gentle flicker of fireflies or lightning bugs as they light up the night sky. 

Join the staff at the Environmental Resources Management (ERM) as the sunsets over the surrounding environment. The Firefly Hike will take place this Thursday, August 4th from 7pm to 9pm at the Pine Glades Natural Area, 14122 West Indiantown Road, Jupiter Florida. Jupiter/Tequesta Home Improvements that Produce the Most Value for Resale in 2016

If you intend to sell your home, it might be a good idea to do a couple of renovations before listing it.  It is also wise move if you have not updated the home in several years.

Remodeling Magazine publishes an annual “Cost vs. Value Report”. The 2016 report disproves most people’s first assumption – kitchen or bathrooms being the remodels that yield the most resale value. According to this report, adding fiberglass attic insulation is the best return on investment.  This simple improvement yielded 117%.

Jupiter’s Harbourside Place will feature a Waterfront Social Events Catering Space

Jupiter’s $150 million dollar waterfront entertainment and shopping complex, Harbourside Place, is not in distress.  Although one restaurant, the Deep Blu Seafood Grille, did not have the success, it hoped it would have had.  The space will be converted into “a spot for weddings and social functions”.  The idea seemingly makes more logic.  The Deep Blu Seafood Grille opened a year ago.

The 4,000 square foot restaurant closed and is in the process of being transformed into a social affair epicenter. The owner states that the space will be more profitable as a catering venue, than as a restaurant.  The Wyndham Grand Jupiter Hotel will manage the space for social affairs.

The 2nd Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic!

Mark your calendar! The 2nd Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic is set for August 27, 2016 at Carlin Park in Jupiter. Furry Friends, a no-kill shelter and clinic in Jupiter, will be hosting this family event that features live music, kids’ activities, food, vendors and dogs catching waves. The surfing begins at 8:30 a.m., with four heats; small, medium and large dogs, and a stand-up surfboard heat. You can register your pooch online at FurryFriendsAdoption.org. Jupiter's Guanabana's is Celebrating Jerry Garcia with a Birthday Bash

Jerry Garcia was the lead singer and lead guitarist for the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in the San Francisco area. Witness a Juno Beach Hatchling Release

Witness a very rare opportunity; observe a sea turtle hatchling release.  Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is one of Florida’s unique non-profit educational and entertaining destinations dedicated to ocean and sea turtle conservation. Their vision is, “to be recognized locally and internationally as the leading authority in sea turtle education, research, and rehabilitation.”

LMC is offering a program, which is available the entire month of August.  The program is a behind the scenes tour of the sea turtle rehabilitation-healing center and research facility located in Juno Beach.
