Southern Living Magazine listed the top 10 Snorkeling Spots in the Sunshine State.  As it turns out, our area was prominent. Palm Beach County and Martin County ranked in five of the top ten spots. Adopt a sea turtle through Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. They have an “Adopt a Sea Turtle” program. This unique program helps to further research, rehabilitation projects, and the constant attention and medical care for the sick, injured, and endangered sea turtles kept at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a non-profit organization located in Juno. The mission of Loggerhead MarineLife is to help safeguard marine life and to help boost ocean conservation. The center saves wounded or endangered sea turtles. They bring to the injured and rescued sea turtles to the hospital for further care and diagnosis before releasing them back into the ocean.

Built in 1860, this historic lighthouse has not missed a night of work in more than one hundred years. It is among the oldest lighthouses on the Atlantic coast. Many Jupiter area natives have wonderful childhood memories splashing around the shallow lagoon of DuBois Park. Children searching for crabs, attempting to catch small fish in the mangroves, and just splashing around as moms chatted knowing the kids were safe in the shallow water. The estuary is a joy to explore. DuBois Park has a rich history. Within the park is a house made of Florida pine that was once home to early Florida pioneers, Harry and Susan DuBois. Mr. and Mrs. Dubois bought eighteen acres on the southside of the Jupiter Inlet that he had respected for its ridge of Native American shell mound.
