THE 19TH ANNUAL PLYWOOD REGATTA in DANIA BEACH

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida founded the Plywood Regatta in 1996 and has assembled some major enthusiasm of recreational boating to endure on “Building Boating’s Future… Today!” 

A max of 40 teams of undergraduates can participate in the Plywood Regatta in Dania Beach, Florida. Students from middle school, high school and marine technical school will attempt to build a sea vessel on Saturday, April 11, 2015 only using modest hand tools and supplies that are provided such as plywood, seal and zip ties!

The participating students will then help each other decorate their sea worthy vessels.
Once the teams have successfully completed their creative masterpieces, they will put the boats in the water and paddle through the competition in…

Wildlife Officials say to Look out for shorebirds in South Florida

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are asking all beachgoers to keep a look out and do your best not to disturb the shorebirds on the Atlantic coast of Florida.

During spring and summer, shorebirds are beach nesting; they tend to build nests with layers of sand and sea shells found on the beautiful resourceful beaches of South Florida. Due to their camouflage, hatching chicks, as well as the nest and eggs, are challenging to see with possibilities of being trodden on such as birds like the black skimmer, snowy plover and American oystercatcher and more. Dustin Johnson Sets Shadow Creek Course Record in Las Vegas

Dustin Johnson has had a good go of things lately.

He sold his house on the Loxahatchee River and boght a new waterfront house on the Intracoastal in the new Frenchman's Harbour community in North Palm Beach. He and his fiance Paulina welcomed their first child back in January, a son named Tatum. Johnson also went out and won the WGC-Cadillac Championsip at Doral, the second stop in the Florida swing. He then came back this weekend and managed a T6 finish at the Valero Texas Open despite having back luck with weather the first two days being in the early-late draw at TPC San Antonio.

You can also add setting a new course record to his acolades as of late.

The Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) announced its highly anticipated film line-up for the 20th year, March 26 – April 2, 2015, featuring 12 World Premieres and 15 American premieres.
