Good news for beach goers, Martin County will open its beaches to nonresidents starting today, Wednesday, May 20th. Previously, beaches in Martin County have been opened since May 8th to residents only.

For the past few weeks, there were electric signs posted saying that deputies would be checking ID’s and addresses to make sure beach goers lived in Martin County. During this time, Hobe Sound Beach remained closed due to its close proximity to Palm Beach County but is now open for visitors.

Palm Beach County opened their beaches with no restrictions on Monday, May 18th. The decision to reopen the beaches to all comes as Broward County and Miami-Dade County entered into Phase One of Reopening Florida on Monday. Broward County beaches will remain closed until after Memorial Day.
