The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is preparing to release another sea turtle into the ocean this Wednesday, May 22nd. The sea turtle research and rehabilitation center plan on release Corwin at 10:30 am.

Corwin was found on the beach in Juno Beach in September and is a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle. Corwin was found struggling in the surf on Juno Beach. After the staff from the center was contacted, Corwin was brought in and was underweight and in poor health. During its stay, the sea turtle received nutrition, iron and antibiotics and was closely monitored by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s staff. Earlier this month, Corwin was taken off of all medications and is now ready to be released back into the ocean.

The Sea Turtle Release is this Wednesday, May 22nd on the beach across from the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Pre-release procedures begin at 10 am and the turtle is set to be released into the ocean at 10:30 am. They recommend arriving early for a good viewing spot.

If you cannot attend the Sea Turtle Release, there will be a Facebook live stream during the event. The releases are weather permitting so be sure to check their Facebook page and website for updates.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is located at 14200 US Highway 1 in Juno Beach.
