Lion Country Safari located in western Palm Beach County is Florida’s only drive through safari.  The safari is located on nearly 600 acres of land and home to roughly 900 animals. The Lion Country Safari is located at 2003 Lion Country Safari Road in Loxahatchee.

The species that live at Lion Country Safari come from all around the world. The safari is divided into seven different habitats.  You will see some of the largest herds of zebras, giraffes, and rhinos on record in the United States.

The Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society is a non-profit zoological organization located at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach. Take the kids to the Palm Beach Zoo, for a low-cost Palm Beach County outing during the month of September. The zoo will be offering FREE admission for children of the age 12 and younger through September 30, 2021.

The zoo houses more than 550 animals, which includes over 190 species. Many of the species are endangered and inhabited within 23-acres of lush tropical habitat. For 30 years, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter has been responsible for the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of thousands of animals back into their natural environment since opening. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest such facility in Palm Beach County reintroducing endangered and core species back into our fragile ecosystems. For an inexpensive excursion take the kids to the Palm Beach Zoo during the month of August.  The zoo will be offering free admission for kids 12 and younger during the month of August. This offer, two free child admissions per full-price adult ticket, is valid when they are accompanied by a paying adult.  Children under 3 are always free.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is beginning a new chapter. The sanctuary located in Jupiter has helped to save almost 6,000 injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife patients in 2020 and the sanctuary is about to embark on an even bigger journey.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1983 and has been responsible for recusing, rehabilitation, and releasing thousands of animals back into the wild since opening. The sanctuary also helps to provide vital environmental education through their events and classes for South Floridians and visitors each year.

The Town of Jupiter is one of the very few dog friendly beaches remaining in the state. Jupiter adopted the policy and idea to allow dogs on the beach in 1989. Today, the dog friendly beach area has been expanded and reaches over 2.5 miles of access along the sandy shoreline.

The Jupiter Dog Beach stretches from Carlin Park Beach Marker #57 south to Marcinski Road Beach Marker #25. In the designated area, dogs are permitted to roam freely, but must be supervised at all times.

Parking is free along A1A or public parking lots at Carlin Park or Marcinski Road. The Jupiter Dog Beach is open from sunrise to sunset. The Towns asks that dogs should remain on a leash from the car to the beach and owners should be conscientious of their pets and others while…

Its that time again for the 28th annual Pet Parade and Contest happening along Worth Avenue. The annual event is a local Palm Beach favorite.

This Saturday bring your beloved dog, cat, bunny, or whatever cuddly pet you have and cruise down the runway dressed in costume. All pets and all sizes are welcomed to join in on the day of fun. The event takes place in Via Amore, right off Worth Avenue. The popular event draws hundreds of spectators every year.

Registration for the Pet Parade and Costume Contest begins at 9 am and the contest will begin at 10 am. Costumes and embellishments are required for stage competition. Owners of pets will be competing for great prizes and the honor of being one of Palm Beach’s doggy divas.

The River Center in Jupiter is hosting their second annual Atala Butterfly Festival and Family Day this weekend. Head to the River Center this Saturday for the fun-filled event.

The Butterfly Festival celebrates the Atala Butterfly. The butterfly was once thought to be extinct, but the beautiful butterfly is local here in Jupiter and is thriving right in our own backyards.

The day’s events will include butterfly arts and crafts, a Native Plant sale, Native Plant seed harvesting, Tours of the River Center migratory bird and butterfly garden, and more.

The popular South Florida Fair that is held at the South Florida Fairgrounds every January is planning on presenting two fairs in 2021. The two fairs will include a mini fair held this January and then a full-fledge traditional fair which is currently scheduled for May.

Both fairs will continue to be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds. According to organizers of the fair, everyone who purchases a ticket for the mini fair will be granted one free admission for the fair in May. Tickets must be purchased from the South Florida Fair’s website.
