On Saturday mornings throughout the summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a Self-Guided Beach Clean Up for locals and visitors to help keep our beautiful beaches clean for the sea turtles and other marine life.

Now more than ever, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center need your help. Beginning in March through the end of October is Sea Turtle Nesting Season, where thousands of sea turtles lay their nests on the beach in our area. Northern Palm Beach County is one of the most popular sea turtle nesting spots in the world, the main reason is the gulf stream current that bends towards Florida. During this time, the center monitors the beaches daily for new sea turtle nests.

Head on over to Jupiter beach this Saturday morning, May 1, 2021 and join the Friends of Jupiter Beach as they help clean up the area shoreline.  Friends of Jupiter Beach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally health, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter, Florida.

In 1994, the threat of closing the beach to dogs rallied a small group of concerned citizens, who quickly began organizing beach cleanups and providing dog waste bags at beach crossovers. Since then, the group has exploded, with individuals and businesses joining in an effort which “repeatedly demonstrate care for their marine environment and the privilege of taking our four-footed friends to one of the last dog beaches in the area”.
